Why a Life Coach?

Life is challenging! Who would argue with this statement?

Life is always in transition and with each transition our lives shift in predictable or unpredictable ways. Some shifts are easily accommodated with only minor adaptation needed while other shifts are more monumental and require greater changes. Often change, any change, can leave us unsure, confused, perplexed and unable to move forward. Divorce, relationship issues, career shifts, unemployment, retirement, and empty nest syndrome are just examples of some of the more major life changes that we may encounter at some point in our lives. All of us are uniquely imbued with capacities to adjust but oftentimes when we are in the midst of change we become entangled by all the decisions facing us.

We can become stuck in a pool of questions such as "what do I do now," "where do I go from here" or "what should my next step be?" These are times when the services of a professional life coach can be invaluable in helping you reestablish footing in life, gain more clarity, redefine your direction and begin to take positive actions toward attaining your goals. In partnership with a Life Coach you can gain new perspective, realize and prioritize what needs to change, strengthen existing skills and uncover untapped capabilities you were unaware of before. A Life Coach will empower you to achieve your life dreams that will align with your own particular and unique vales and beliefs and help you create the life you've been waiting for.

What a Life Coach is Not.

A Life Coach is not a therapist or a mentor. Therapist are professionals who utilize any of a number of psychotherapeutic modalities to help people resolve painful and often crippling emotional issues of the past. Mentors are highly trained professionals in speciality areas that tutor and guide clients and business to achieve that speciality in their personal or professional life.

Life Coaches stay in the present moment and help clients remain grounded in the here and now. Although occasional references to the past may be helpful in defining an issue the solution to any problem lies in the ability to craft a goals and objectives to meet the needs of the client in the present.
