I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work in 1995 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and was licensed to practice that same year. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings and with a very diverse population from rural health care to immigration. My most recent and long term employment has been as a mental health practitioner with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and with the Department of Defense, Army Branch. I have had the privilege of being trained in a multiplicity of evidenced based therapies that have all contributed to the practice I now provide. Along my life-work journey I have become an alcohol and abuse counselor, a grief facilitator, a clinical hypnotist, and now a life coach.

I consider myself a life coach for individuals in transition because, quite frankly, we are all in transition all the time. Most of us manage that transition well based upon our own intuitive thinking, reasoning, and past experience. But sometimes we experience blocks or obstacles that can create barriers to accessing those old and familiar resources we once easily turned to or, those resources may just not seem as effective as they once were; a person may experience a writer's block that doesn't yield to old techniques, a business problem arises and old time-honored solutions just don't seem to have the same effect, relationship or family dynamic issues alter and/or completely change, leaving one vulnerable and unsure of what there may be a health crisis that has dramatically changed the course of one's life.
